5 Links to Hotels in Bangkok
Bangkok has been entertainint tourists for ages, making Thai’s experts at hospitality, offering an abundance of accommodations to suit every budget and personality.
The following websites include lots of fabulous visuals, so, I’ve chosen to allow them do the job they were created for. A few of my favorite hotels include:
UP MARKET –
5 Star Alliance – Sukothai Hotel is tops! The rooms are gorgeous and comfy. Highest quality restaurant and Spa. Sukhumvit luxury, in a convenient neighborhood, near the American Consulate & Samitivej Hospital. http://www.sukhothai.com
The Vie Hotel – Sophisticated, “hip” hotel – sister to the Villas in Hua Hin. Culinary restaurant and various bar areas. Pool and plenty to do in the hotel. Near many malls, public transportation. Busy. Lots of tour agents in the area. Conveniently across the street from the 7-11 where you can refill your phone minutes. http://www.viehotelbangkok.com
LOCAL – MID RANGE
LOCAL THAI HOTEL – Best Western Elegance Suites – space and simplicity – affordable price, near the Chao Phraya River. Spent about about a week of surgical re-cooperation here. Found it roomy, comfortable, and conveniently located near public transportation and a posh section of town. Restaurant for breakfast, and a rooftop, outdoor pool area, with a spectacular city view at night – TIP#1: take a cooling dip or sip a cocktail before venturing out for the evening. TIP#2: book online for discounts: http://www.elegance.th.com
FOR BUDGET MINDED TRAVELERS – The famous, Khaosan Road District. Simple, clean, bare bones hotel recommended by a friend: Kawin Place, at 86 Kaosarn Road (no website). The whole area is known as a backpacker heaven. Tourists from all over the world gather in this convenient location, near the Chao Phraya River. The historic Khaosan District is near many highlighted attractions in Bangkok, and offers more hotels and everything else to choose from: http://www.khaosanroader.com
ATTN: BACKPACKERS – The Famous River View Guest House in Chinatown, is colorful, and centrally located. Their tasty, low-key, in-house restaurant/bar still has one of the best views of Bangkok’s sunset on the Chao Phraya River. It’s like family, you get used to it! http://www.riverviewbkk.com
